I first saw people announcing that this pad would be out near the beginning of September. I think the release date that the www.xbox.com site had displayed was originally September 4th. When I checked at my local EB Games their date had corresponded to this date and as such I put some money down on one.

When September 4th arrived they informed me that the date had been pushed back and that their computer stated that they wouldn't be receiving them until September 10th. I went back there on the 10th and they informed me that they had not received them but that they were in transit. Still today they haven't received any of them.

What's going on? Is this like a floating release date that's trying to match some Xbox update or is the distribution for these chat pads getting messed up some how?

My buddy's friend has one.. I haven't met him personally yet only on Uno (our drinking game)

MR G04T .. he was using it to send msgs via msn.. then later on that night on NHL 08 in the game lobby he was typing up a storm.

He said he got hes in China town.. so that would be my best bet for you to find one... thats if you have a china town.. lol

There was a minor problem with the pads muting the headsets....my local store has them in stock at the moment so I don't think there's a shipping problem.

Thank you very much for the replies! I guess EB is just all messed up in my neck of the woods. :)

Well the chat pad came in today. It's an extremely cool little gizmo. I'd heard that it added too much weight to the controller but I was able to play with it for an hour and a half without noticing any issues.

It also makes entering info and chatting through messenger much easier. It'll just take a bit to get used to memorizing where the punctuation keys are.

All in all I'm happy with it.

Yes! As soon as you begin to enter info on the pad it lights up. Not only that but the Messenger button changes colour to let you know when you can and can't bring up the chat window.
