No FFXIII This Year

May 23, 2007 - Did that updated Final Fantasy XIII trailer (you know, the one you weren't able to see because filming was not allowed) from the Square Enix Party get you even more excited about Japan's most anticipated PS3 title? Well don't start saving your cash just yet, as there's going to be quite the wait before you actually get to play it.

Fielding questions at a Square Enix financial briefing in Tokyo today, president Yoichi Wada said this about Final Fantasy XIII: "It will still take a bit more time. At the very least, [a release] this fiscal year is definitely out of the question."

Japanese is known for being a pretty vague language, but Wada's words were pretty clear. No FFXIII in Japan until some time after March 2008.

Let's hope Square Enix starts the translation before development finishes up.

No surprise there, I also think it will be making it to the 360. The ps3 isn't doing that well right now and Square may not make a profit on the game and may have to go mulit-platform especially because it has taken them a long time ot make this game.

Yeah who would be surprised about that funny thing is cause of localisation thx to the countries that refuse to accept games and movies in english we in europe get to wait at least a lot longer.

I mean just think...

It comes out in Japan.... everyone else will have to wait like 6 months after that for the english... its nutz! I would think they should either do both dubs at the same time, and put both dubs on the game... or split the dubs and release them both at the same time. If its been delayed already.... there is no reason to wait 6 more months... OR...

I keep coming up with more... LOL

Release the Japanese version everywhere... 6 months later release the english version. They could make probably more money that way!

im not even saying translate it...

Theres plenty enough people who import just for this game... so why not? At least make it so you can play it on any console...
