The effect of Absynthe is actually an urban myth, and believe me I KNOW :D, a glass of Stroh-Rum (80%) does the job much better.

Absinthe is a strong-herbal liquor distilled with wormwood and anise. It can contains other aromatic herbs like star anise, anise seed, fennel, licorice, hyssop, veronica, lemon balm, angelica root, dittany, coriander, juniper, and nutmeg. Absinthe originated in Switzerland as an elixir, yet it is better known for its popularity in late 19th and early 20th century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers whose romantic associations with the drink still linger in popular culture.

According to history, or perhaps myth, the elixir of wormwood was orginally developed by Dr. Pierre Ordinaire in 1789. He was a French doctor who was living in the Suisse town of Couvet, in the Canton of Neuchâtel. The doctor was in self-exile due to political reasons from the Franche-Comté region. It was said that he discovered the plant wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium) while traveling in the Val-de-Travers. I waited till the last day to start doing my taxes. Thought I could do it all on line and paperless , but I get to the very last page of the 1 hour long program and it tells me I need to print 1 piece of paper and send it in before I am really done. So I turn on the printer , start the print and it tells me no more ink , not even enough for the one page!!:mad: So now I am on the hunt for an ink cartridge that cant be found. I have already called 6 stores and no luck. And on top of that its $49.00 and I only have $20 till I get paid on thursday , time to break out the change jar.
