As you all know (especially Jeff), I get bored at work and take pictures of all kind of things.........now I hear you asking "Why don't you start a thread about it Mike?".
Those prayers have now been answered, welcome to the thread that will, in no way whatsoever, bring deeper purpose to mankind!

haha yea that's cool that your 'bored' at work and seeing diff things... id start a thread about me being bored at work.. but i dont do anything at work untill like we'll say 3:45 usually.. it sucks haha

I once bought Microsofts Train simulator. It was fun for about a half an hour. I got bored pretty quick. However doing it in real life is probably much better. I would love a job like that!

These days I drive Cargo trains most of the time (the pay is better!!! ;) ), but I have all my certificates so I tend to switch alot! Have been in a couple (and seen lots) of accidents, I'll try to fish out those pics from the past for ya!

Laughed my @zz off today, did'nt have anything to do whatsoever. I had to instruct a wannabee engineer and let him do the little work there was.

He had to throw a railswitch outside of the train, problem was....... it's seagull mating season, they go absolutely bonkers and attack (and cover you in ****) all people.......made this little flick......(DUTCH ALERT). :D

Dutchey, how exactly did you get into the train business? Did you just go to the local train station and say "Hey, I'd like to drive a train", or do you have to go to college for it, or what? :confused:

He was waving that flag to yield off incoming seagulls, they tend to dive towards your head.......waving a flag (or a stick) keeps them higher up, thus they will 'only' **** on you!

I had the papers to do it and passed the tests, just rolled into it really. I worked with a company that supplied services to the railroads and one day I got into a fight with my boss, fortunatly, a supervisor of the Dutch Railroads was present and invited me to come work for them.......pure luck! But then again, that was 2 decades ago! :o

Funny thing is that I've recently recieved a job offer from Canadian Pacific, supposedly they are searching for train engineers. Why not give them a call if you're intrested in the business?

Another boring day/night at work, Upside of it was that I got to drive a brand new loco-engine, which also had the 'ring of death' on the way back.
Driving back home all I wanted to do was play 'the darkness'.........great game btw!!

Ok, I've been spending this last week in hotels and doing god know's what in germany....... these nightshifts can get kinda boring if you have to wait for a couple of hours, so I fiddled around (:confused:) with the fixed Linux computer on the locomotive..........and PRESTO!! (don't tell my boss!)

I finaly was allowed to drive some distances again after a little 'missunderstanding' I had with a car on a railroadcrossing some time ago, and within minutes boredom set in again!! :D
