I saw this also. I guess they never looked into what the shelf life of the discs when they made them, this is sonys way rushing things before they are ready.

Nothing new, this happened to early CD's and DVD's as well. It's probably just 'disease' almost all new pressed media has/had.

Next to this, who says this guy/girl didn't spilled water over the BR-DVD of left it out in the sun? Cause water or extensive sunlight exposure can have the same effect...

thats crazy.. if this is a defect in the manufacturing processs.. returns a plenty are in the forecast..

So far only hear it with that blu-ray movie i think its an isolated incident something must have gone wrong with the production process of that specific movie.

A fact is, that the same thing happed to early CD-roms. I showed my dad the picture of the 'rotten' BR-DVD and he told me it looks similar to the first (writable) CD-roms he had.

with new technology and media, there are always issues unbeknown to the publishers
