As far as condo prices go, i would know. But 1500 for $850 sounds good to me, and the condo looks great.

Outside shots?

Congratulations on the condo, Azrael.

Would or wouldn't? You put the 'but' after that, so I'm not sure what you meant.

I wish that I had some outside shots, but we didn't get to look around much. I'm moving in a few weeks and will take more shots once we get everything situated and will even throw some sunset shots in for good measure. :D

Gebbie, I take it you would want the other bedroom? The rest of you will have to stay in a hotel. :D

Not sure the wife will like that too much, tho. :D

Haha. The wife REALLY wouldn't go for that.

what is the difference between a condo and a apartment? they are the same thing to me, I'm in a condo now. Not too fond of them, too small.

Apartments are normally all owned by the same leasing company. Condominiums are owned by individuals that are members of the building or community of buildings.

The difference lies in who you go to when you have a problem. With apartments, you contact the leasing company and they send out the maintenance team. With condos, you contact the owner of the condo, and he/she does what is necessary and may have to contact the homeowners association to obtain permission to do something.

Am I right? I watch a ton of HGTV and real estate shows, so I hope I'm explaining this properly. Anyone else care to chime in?

Congrats on the new place! I really wish housing was that cheap around here. You wouldn't be able to get an appt/condo half that size for that cheap in the DC area. Well, at least in a neighborhood you would want to live in.

From what I hear DC is one of the worst cities in the country as far as crime is concerned. Any truth to that, loki?

To be honest, this is an anomaly on the housing market. I would fully expect them to be able to get at least $1000 for this condo. Main reason? It's one block from the beach. No lie, look at the map that the link takes you to. The lady says that they lived off of the seafood that her son and husband caught there. If you like flounder, then it's one of the best spots in the area.

Another reason is the fact that it's HUGE. 1500 SQFT apartments in Wilmington don't exist, especially 2 bedrooms. The maximum SQFT of 2 BR apartments that I had seen is 1000. After that, the 3 BR's start. This leaves each of the rooms as very small. Too small, in fact, for our furniture. Plus, the 2 BR apartments of a similar style (luxury) are $900-$1000 for 1000 SQFT.

I'm getting a steal for 1500 SQFT at $850 monthly.

Congratz on the condo, looks real nice

Thanks, Stony. I'm about 1.5 hours from Cary, NC, where Epic Studios is located. Too bad I don't have a game design degree. :D

Something to think about. Thanks, Gebbie. I also happen to be poor, so unless they can let me go for free, I'm screwed.

True. I'll look at it after we move. It's ultra-hectic around here now.

That pretty awesome. Hey, if you want to throw me a housewarming party, then, by all means, please do. If you need to book a flight, the airport is ILM (Wilmington International Airport). :D
