Make fun of me, if you must. I have played video games since I was a small precocious child. Years later, as a large precocious adult, I found myself forced to admit that I hadn't played a single minute of a Devil May Cry game - until the demo for DMC4 launched on the Xbox 360.
Having never owned the PS2, I missed out on the Devil May Cry experience. I remember looking longingly at the game covers at my local mall, because they always looked amazing, but since the universal console has never been a reality and I owned an Xbox, those games did me no good. DMC is a classic series, but exclusivity kept me from it.
Oh, how times have changed.
Since the demo is available for everyone to download, I won't get into all of the details, but... Devil May Cry 4 is a mix of beautiful settings, fast hack and slash action, 3D platforming, and big boss battles all stirred together in a flurry of pistols and blades. (Like all of Jessica Biel's scenes in Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Blade II.)
DMC4 is easy to like, depending on your tastes. If you like combo-based combat and pretty graphics, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. The demo is free of charge to download. If you hate it you may curse me under your breath. If you enjoy it and jump to a purchase, you must thank me.
