Hi all,
I am SuperSaiyan4 (not literally although I wish I was lol)
Anyhow found this very interesting site through a link on news4gamers on the blu-ray and hd-dvd article.
I am however confused on what this site/forum is supposed to be - it says Official Xbox.com community developer but have never in all my years as an Xbox fan heard of such a site apart from xbox.com.
I see some interesting beta programs also many things in reference to Xbox Live however I do not see Major Nelson on here...
Would appreciate it if someone could give me some details on this site, thanks.

Hello supersaiyan, that article was written by me hoped you like it;),this site was opened many years ago but merged with XUG(which can be found on Xbox.com)Stony(the former admin at XLN)and Admin at XUG decided he wanted to re-open XLN,The site is now aimed at the community and creating unique aplictions,so basicly this site is about having a good time with the community...playing games with other member, clans and if you have an idea for a new application post and its most likely stony can work his magic!!
It is an official developer but again its only open a month or so now, given time you will see more of XLN.
Any way i hope you enjoy your stay here at XLN supersaiyin

Hello and welcome to the site,
A while ago (a bit more than a year) Microsoft decided to launch http://www.xbox.com/en-us/community/developer.
They selected 50 community site owners and programmers to develop Xbox Live based applications based on data. So there are about 50 people in the world with that clearance.
I myself am also the developer of xboxusersgroup.com. I started xboxlivenation.com together with 2 other XCDP developers to bring the live services we all made for our own sites to a different level and create services that are even more innovative and creative.
Binding forces allows us to gather the best of the best.
Hope that this explains it a bit. This site is aimed in creating applications and services that eventually make their way to the XCDP community sites.
In that way it forms a community of testers and dedicated gamers that one to build communities how they should be build.
These articles may shed some additional light

Thanks guys.
So is this site affliated with Xbox Live itself? I.e. updates are made here for the Xbox Live dashboard? Or are the beta things only for this site only to further improve it?
I am probably getting the impression that there are betas on here that allow those that sign up to this site to get updates to their Xbox Live dashboard that others cant get.
Also lastly so some of you guys here work for Microsoft?
Sorry for these questions just want to get things clear lol.
Also can I say this has to be one of the BEST forums I have ever seen!! Its incredible!

We don't work for microsoft itself but we're member of a program (the admins are).
Only 50 in the world and there are 3 of them on XLN.
The beta things are only on the site and not directly to the console. That is fully controlled by Microsoft and and their Xbox Live team.
We only create apps that can be messed around with outside of the 360..so no dashboard updates..stony is the only one who officialy works for MS(but does it as a hobby)you can sign up for betas just by pm'ing stony and thanks for the compliments on the site, hope you stick around!!

Ah ok.
Regarding these betas so they are betas only to this site?
I guess anything regarding Xbox Live goes to Major Nelson right?

these betas can be on our site or in the form of webservices to other sites.
Purely Xbox Live betas, like dashboard or others are directed by Microsoft themselves (including people like Major Nelseon and the rest of the Xbox Live and Live anywhere team)
