The Xbox news does get imported in the main site. I kinda like the world news in one place.
I can import the xbox news in the forums too if that can help.

well i think it would be better if you changed the world news with the news bot because we cant see it....everyone uses "new posts" button and its always clogged up with world news!

It's done. However I still include the Xbox news that was imported as that's related to the things we do here on the site.

The Xbox News gets imported too. You can now access it both ways: the news channel link in the main content menu and in the News feed category of the Community forum

This is more of an 'addition to XLN" thought.
How'z about a member photoalbum.......members can upload photo's (maybe even video's?) and can leave a short comment about it.......other members could also leave a comment..... bloggy stuff!

Thought about these kind of things but as there are already 100's of sites that offer these kind of services it does seem kinda overkill to create/enable these services.
Getting these other sites more integrated looks more sensible.

Isn't the key though to have services on our site that other sites have but use our's for the simple fact that it promotes XLN.

The point of XLN is to offer service to other sites as long as it isn't already out there.
I don't see any point in creating a full myspace like application or youtube as these applications are so big and wellknown that there is no sense in competing. People will use those even if you have a similar function.
I rather have some key features we can use on those sites or have nice applications directly here.
That doesn't mean that an integration of our profile pages with references to for example your myspace page isn't interesting to see here.

Well for one the site doesnt look very Xboxish or Liveish if you get what I mean. It would be good to have a nice banner with an Xbox 360 and headset or something to make it more showy.
Live a nice orange LIVE logo and 3d effect shaped icons rather than flat looking ones.
You know like give it more of a Vista look :D

maybe there could be a new forum. There is a sport forum now, but the only thing posted there is pure news. If if you even want to start a topic there, it's on the scond page in less than a hour
Hope this will come, i like to discuss about sport (than i mean soccer ofcourse :D)
And as already said, a new banner and maybe a logo would make this a bit more fancier site. Still like the site though, just hope it becomes perfect ;)

My one thing would be maybe a very basic walkthrough on how to call the API's from offsite. People have been very generous as to show off their use on their sites, but there is nothing really showing you on how to implement them. I know that these would be code/language specific in most cases but maybe a quick how-to in php snippets or HTML snippets. This would probably open up the floodgates on people using them offsite.
P.S. Got the gamercard up in our forums now as the avatar, thanks stony. :)

you should make more xbox 360 forums like "xbox 360 general" . i think it would really help cuz when i came to this site a couple weeks ago, i didnt really wanna join cuz the site didnt look like it had much xbox stuff for general people like right now it looks mostly like for clans, tournament, coder stuff...not much xbox360 general stuff . just my opinion, hope this helps

cool u did it :) oh yea, another suggestion is simpler forum titles like when u look at a forum title, u know what its about at first glance ..also combining stuff is a good idea!! like u can make the xbox france, italy, and netherland forums put inside of general xbox discussion and i dont know but this place would be perfect if it was simple looking and well organized

I love the site first off and would only really want to change the gamerscore progress chart for some sort off more detailed or customizable format , i dont know if it could be done , or how often it can updated by live. I love the stats and the more the better IMO.

I've never really been a big poster to forums. I'll browse through them if I'm looking for something (I think the amount of flaming on boards, in general (I have no idea how it is here) tends to keep me away.) So I find it rather frustrating when I log into the site, being told that I've not posted to the forums in 'several weeks' (umm... I've not even been a member for 'several' weeks' have I?).
I have been, however, trying to keep a daily or at least three time a week blog (trying being the operative word here). Would it be possible for the forum posting 'nag screen' count blogs as well?
I'm still learning the site, so hopefully I'll have more constructive thoughts later on.

Just thought of something, actually a couple of things. In the 'Invite A Friend' area, would it be possible to user a person's Gamertag to send the invite? I've got some friends I'd like to invite, but I've never had their e-mail addresses nor will I.
Secondly, a wording issue on the 'Invite A Friend'. Where there's the confirmation code (random letter graphic) for submitting the request, if the letters are or are not case-sensitive, letting the user know would be very beneficial.

At this stage this is kinda hard as we have no huge list associating gamertags and emails, and if we do have a match the user is already registered here.
To invite friends via the gamertag I think the xbox.com friends messaging system may very well be a better solution.

I figured the pulling of info like e-mail from a Gamertag probably wouldn't be workable. Worth a shot, though. I was going to ask if the number of invites that could be sent could be raised (for some reason I was thinking it was only 5), but looking at it now, it would appear that the default limit is 50.
For some reason I think I would feel like a spammer if I tried to mail everyone in my Friends List an e-mail telling them to check out XLN, but I guess that's going to have to be the way of it for now. Now worries!

OK I am a little vain so how about a way to see your GamerTag location on a leaderboard? So that I would know that overall I am at #? and for GTAIV I am at #?
Either a single page with all the games and your current ranking beside them. Maybe when using the leaderboards maybe you could put it above them.
Again I sometimes get a little competitive and want to know where I am and who is above me.
