Ahhh my first post ... okay here goes .... I'm trying to connect to X-Box live wirelessly using the X-Box Wireless Networking Adapter and a recently purchased router. My computer, modem, and router are in one room ... the X-Box and tv in the living room. The distance is around 20 feet if that much ... hey I live in a small apartment, what can I say. Anyway I initially bought a Belkin router that had the capability of broadcasting throughout an entire household but couldn't connect to the X-Box. I was told by the X-Box techs that the router was not compatible the game system, so I took that one back and got a Linksys router with the same capabilities. I still cannot connect to the game system. When I spoke once again with an X-Box tech I was told that I needed a ethernet cable from the modem to the game system ... why? I thought using the router did away with cables. I've been to a friends house and they're connected wirelessly but the tech said that is the only way to gain access to X-Box live was to use the cable. The tech from Linksys seems to think the wireless adapter is malfunctioning because it's suppose to allow the X-Box to seek out the IP address and it's not doing it. There is a red light on the back of the wireless adapter and when I test for connectivity I get the not connected readout. Soooooooooo any suggestions? Sorry for the long post but thought that if anyone reads it, they would want as much info as possible in order to assist. Thanks for any help.

The only thing I can think of would be to hook everything up the right way and then reset everything including the router and all.
