Gamertag validator

as you may have noticed I launched a new application. This one will benefit us all.

The XLN Live Gamertag Validator allows you to authenticate you as a the real user of a gamertag. The application uses a specific XLN code you need to add to your motto for a short while.

To validate your gamertag just follow the simple instructions on the validator page.

You can also reset an active validation if you have previously validated and want to do it again or if you have changed your gamertag on Live and here on Xbox Live Nation.

A validated banner will be visible on the Live DNA and on the profile of a member so you can be sure that that gamertag really belongs to that user.


Two small remarks


On Xbox.com you need to go to "manage profile", you can edit your motto via the "edit gamercard" link.

During the validation process you must set your privacy settings in such a way that everyone can see your motto.

If you have submitted a validation request don't forget to change your motto, Otherwise your status will remain in pending.

You can visit the gamertag validator again via the "Live Portal" to reset your validation and request a new code.

Is this a process that should take less than overnight? Does the motto need to contain only the validation code?

I've submitted for validation over twelve hours ago, and I keep seeing that it's waiting for the system to clear it. If that's normal, cool, no worries. Just thought it would be a little faster than that (of course if everyone's doing it once, hopefully nothing's crashed.)

You can reset your validation on the page

The code should be the only thing in the motto

ok well ive been on here for a while now.......and its not working for me....:mad:.....ive had 6 different validation codes and ive done exactly as i was asked......but i still see the pink banner floating on my screen......:mad:.....any suggestions anyone?......i reset the validation code last night and i changed my motto AGAIN......and still no joy.....:mad:

take the "XLN" out of your moto, just the numbers need to be there (I think :))

Yup,

only the numbers nothing else and make sure your profile is public.

It's normally marked on the gtvalidator page.

ok ive took the XLN out and i thought maybe i should re validate the number again.....but i can find the validator page?.....where is it?

I seem to have gotten an invalid code. the code generated was 14314, and when i tried to set that as my motto, i got a "Please enter a valid motto" error message from the website, and a "your motto contains an invalid word or phrase" message trying to set it fromt he xbox.

i hit revalidate on the xln site, got a new number and live took the motto no problem. guess i'll just have to wait and see if this activates.

you have to make sure that the code is then only thing in there.

I just checked your LIVE DNA HERE (http://www.xboxlivenation.com/community/livedna.php?u=4161) and i noticed that it says that you dont have a motto entered....but when i look on your gamercard i see the code?.....thats weird it normally shows your motto of your Gamercard on your LIVE DNA.....i did notice you had your profile on your gamercard locked...im not sure if this is what the problem is or was lol?.....:rolleyes:
