I play Gears of War every week with a group of friends from the Gamercast forums (http://www.gamercastnetwork.com). If, during my play, I don't have at LEAST 1 energy drink, I start to suck - I know - I know - it's a mental thing.
So when I attend the Mayhem Fest this Wednesday, the only real change is that Slipknot will be there... and we play Gears 1, not 2... and I drink a different brand of energy drink... Well you get my point.
Local radio stations for 30 of the tour stops are giving away prizes:
Tickets to the festival
Gift certificates for Gears of War 2, which releases November 2008
Xbox 360 consoles autographed by rock band Slipknot, with custom Mayhem Tour faceplates
At 8 of the stops, they are also giving away 40 VIP tickets that will get fans into a super-secret room where they will play Gears of War 2 with Slipknot. (Shoutout to my fellow maggots.)

As a huge fan of metal, and a huge fan of Gears of War, I'm incredibly stoaked for the event. Some of our crew will be there taking photos, shooting video, and hanging out talking to the fans. I'll also be trying to sneak away and watch Five Finger Death Punch, 36 Crazyfists, The Red Chord, Mastodon, and of course Slipknot.
