I'd prefer blue over pink anyday! Flowers are ok on occasions but other than that... they really aren't my thing. We could set up a bowl of grenades instead of potpourri and a vase of barb wire instead of flowers.. HAHAHAHA!

Awe bugger, don't give it to me, I've had a cracker of a week.
First the olds came down and staied a bit longer than I thought.
Than I had to build 3 pc's for the hubby, got to the point where
I had to put all the software on and the motherboard decided that
it didn't like the processors.
Still have to build 4 more yet.
Than we got a bad storm cell move through and had power outages and loss of connection.
The bad weather is still here and it's starting to flood in the lower areas of town.
My back yard has a new swimming pool.
Isn't life fun :)

I was too busy playing under the house with my hotwheels trucks
and plastic soilders.
And if I was chasing a boy it was usually to bash him up :D

Yeh, In one 24hr period we had nearly a years worth of rain.
I'm up high so we didn't get flooded out thankfully.
Caravan parks got washed away, roads were cut in and out.
Alot of people lost everything, as houses went under.
Parts of the country are still in drought, it is sad that it didn't
happen more over our inner water catchments and farms, where
they need it the most.

but i can be talked into h3/R6.
i played H3 for a little bit, but i couldnt find people to come in with me to finish my co-op legendary parts. I have a hard time with the whole "shoot people 20 times to get the kill" thing with halo, but i just havent spent enough time on it i think to really get used to it.
and i would except cod4 is coming out very soon. and then all other gaming will cease for a while, im so excited for the IW release!

About 4 days ago, I decided to treat my self over x-mas and conned hubby with doe eyes to upgrade me to an Xbox elite. :D
With excited giggles I proceed to hook it up and started to migrate my id and retrieve my content.

Un-be-known to me Xbox live was in the middle of a melt down, as Stony has reported here:

I received a few unable to download errors, along the line of 'the system is busy try again later'. Didn't think much of it at the time and continued to try.

Once I thought all was done, I tried to load up a game, graw2 in this case.
The console would play for a bit, then it would freeze up.
I would try again and would receive a message on the dash in multiple languages telling me "To play this disc put it in a 360 console"

I reset the machine and tried again, basically the same run of problems.
By about now I was thinking I had a defect console and would have to send it back to Xbox support and wait god knows how long for it to return.

I thought I would do a bit of investigating on the net and at Xbox support and came up with some trouble shooting fix it yourself solutions.
After following through all suggested remedies I continued, only to get the same issues.

More research on the net turned up a reoccurring theme of data corruption.

Cold sweats as the thought of loosing my gamer tag and data, this also includes having to re-buy any gaming content that still cost points.

More research.
One main theme of information kept turning up data corruption, (id, content & saved game).
It was about this point I found out about the Xbox live issue.

As it turns out in my case, because the data was interrupted in download due to lives’ tech issues the information was incomplete or chunks of data was missing.
This inturn interfered with everything else.
It started with the dashboard update and went right though to the game update to content downloads.
Even in offline play the freezing and problems recognising the disc, would ensue as the whole system was affected by this.

I reformatted the hard drive to clean it out totally *(I don’t recommend you do this as it might void your warrenty!!)*

When a short reprieve occurred, where live was up and running for a while, I got my dashboard update and recovered my gaming tag a-ok.
nb: I made sure my console settings where all correct before I did this, especially the time zone and clock.
Incorrect setting can cause problems to.

Went down to the shops and got a new copy of graw 2 to eliminate any doubt that my copy may have one scratch to many in it & proceed to try again.

All worked fine. :D

Now All I have to do is wait for live to come back online.
Retrieve the rest of my content, and to be certain that if any updates for games are need, all the data should be there, so there won’t be any more conflicting errors. :rolleyes:

Well my fun was short lived.
The console continued to play up and after some
offline testing confirmed that it was a hardware problem.
The dvd rom drive was stuffed.

I am lucking to know my local gaming store owner
and he did a stright swap for me, so I didn't have to
send the console away.

I'm up and running again and providing that live is not
playing up, I should see you all online.
