My Mom found another place to live about 15 minutes away. I will have to finish high school as a senior next year at another school, but at least we are away from our horrible neighbors and stupid landlord. I'm happy she found a place that isn't too far, but I won't be able to finish high school where I am now.

Well thats good news on one part. For the second... can you register at your school? Since you were there for 3 previous years I would think that could be allowed. I know in my case I wasnt moving to a school district for a year, and was outside the school district and it was approved. It would just be the opposite for you.

Not sure if they would do it. My town was voted best to live in in America and the town has had people moving here ever since. Don't think they would have the room for me to do that. It may be something my Mom can look into, but I'm also not sure how I could get there other than my Mom or grandmom.

Great news. You and your Mom will be much happier. Must be tough with rotten neighbors and a lousy landlord.

Yeah, we couldn't take it anymore. After the neighbors started turning our power off and the landlord not doing anything about it my Mom couldn't take it anymore. At least we can get away from them. The guy who owns this condo we are moving into seems like a nice guy and his willing to fix stuff without a problem. That is what a landlord needs to be. A nice guy who is willing to fix things or take care of problems that you have.

I would seriously look into it... especially since you already go there. Its not like your a new student or anything. You would just like your senior year to be at the school you have attended. So yeah... if your able to get there, have you Mom look into it. I wouldnt doubt that they would let you enroll into it since your a senior.

My sister probably won't be able to, but I don't really think she really cares. My Mom was planning on leaving here after my senior year, but this came up and it came sooner. Hopefully they could work something out for us. they know I have left the school many times, but have coem back many times because it is where I do best.

Wow. Your neighbors turned your power off? That is just plain cruel.

They did it because I took the fuse out of the garage and the power in there is on our bill, so I don't want them leaving a light on which they always do which shoots the power bill up.

Time to call the landlord and have a word with him. He is thinking about trying to charge us for things wrong in this place, when he never even took a look around this place when he bought it.

IMHO If he can't present a walk through document then he has no legal rights in this matter. It varies state to state call a lawyer.

What exactly would that be? Everything is the same as when he bought the place from a previous owner.

Where I live there has to be a walkthrough that the landlord and tenant sign. In Great Neck, NY where my uncle rented a house, he was reponsible for any damages or even repairs while living there. If your landlord didn't do a walkthrough how does he know what damige your family did if any or what was pre-existing.

When you rent something you are supposed to have a form to fill out when you first move in. On that form you are supposed to write if there is anything wrong with the place. That way if there was anything wrong with it before you moved in you wouldn't get the blame for it. If he was a good landlord and a landlord who did things the right way you would have filled one of those out. Like Lunatic says, if you didn't fill anything like that out I don't see how they can charge you for stuff.

Send the bastard a lawyer letter. He'll stop laughing then.
It's cheaper than getting charged for stuff you didn't do. A lawyer will know what to put in the letter. He's going to try to fix up the place to mint condition and have you guys pay for it. Getting a lawyer involved is the only solution.
