Force Unleashed Demo August 21

Lucasarts rattled our mailbox this morning to let us know that, starting Thursday, you'll be able to download a demo for their upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. It'll be one level - a Tie Fighter construction facility - and will involve some kind of Jedi general and a whole big, Corellian ship's load of fighting. It'll be released on both 360 and PS3 on the same day, so no need for complaining on that account.

Hmm we will see kotor 1 and 2 are rpg's made by some experienced rpg developpers...

The force unleashed is more hack and slash oww well still wanna see how it plays out the weakpoints they named were uninspiring Quick time events and bosses..those are flasws i can live with.

I thought the demo was cool but I have to agree with OXM in regards to the boss fight where you can't take them out with your combos you make up but using the button pattern only. I'm going to pick it up when it comes out.

Yeah the quicktime event itself doesn't concern me it just felt a little lame after the first 3 times the animation of the event itself could have been better or taken from a few different angles.

Still slicing up an AT-ST felt pretty good first few times and im pretty sure the AT-ST wasn't the final boss in the level guess thats what they mean with exclusive ending.

Good Quicktime events when done right feel a little more epic like in heavenly sword it had some great ones that made me think wow...

My accuracy with the force throws needs some work..or maybe less beer. This game will be fun. I'll definitely get the first day it's out. I really liked hitting the TIE fighters with debris..it reminded me of when I was little hitting cars with snowballs.. sitting there waiting....waiting..timing ...throwing .. BANG!!! By no means am I instructing people to go out and hit moving cars with snowballs or am I condoning that type of behavior

Downloading this in about 5 minutes! That looks amazing! Gebbie thanks for persuading my wife to hit me multiple times. My shoulder is the size of a large watermelon due to swelling.

it didnt actually take much "persuading" she was pretty eager to do it, i guess any reason to cause you bodily harm is good for her :D

I played through it once, then deleted it.

It was decent... can't say that I'll be buying it.

I'll still be pounding away at Too Human and GTA 4 when it comes out.

oh and the reason OXM gave SWTFU a bad review was just because they hate QTE that is like the only thing they complained about in the whole review

Was anyone able to access the catwalk in the hangor area? There's a power up on that catwalk closest to the door you have use the force hold on. I really liked using the stormtroopers as the lightning grenades that was a blast.....;)

Yeah man, i grabbed that one before i hopped off the platform. Although it only lasts for a bit, having unlimited energy has its perks. Too bad you cant grab the TIE fighters and toss 'em around. I guess "starkiller" isnt at a high enough level for all of that yet.

You can grab the TIE fighters and chuck em...Sometimes the targeting doesn't hone in on them right away. I did get the power up on the lower catwalk you're on when you first enter the hanger but there's another catwalk up higher with another power up. I'm not sure if that's the one you mean but there's two in that room. This game is going to be sick I can't wait.

It was an alright demo I will play it sooner or later but I am waiting for a price drop fo sho

The PS3 version runs smoother its not that it becomes annoying on the 360 but once you play the ps3 demo it just becomes clear that its not there on that version.

So i will just be picking it up on there...besides i need a new coat first before i can even consider buying another 360 it will take a few months....;)

September approaches and so do the games....not to mention i gotta pay for college again...:(

I'm awaiting GoW2 and Fable 2 as well, but I won't be buying those either.

I'll definitely be buying Fallout 3, tho.

Last time I checked, I could be looking forward to a game without having to purchase it. Also, us unemployed folks who don't have rich mommies and daddies who buy stuff for us have a few other important 'details' of life (IE: rent, car pymt, cell phone bill, multiple CC bills, etc) to pay for before we are allowed to 'splurge' on gaming.

It takes more than an act of Congress for me to buy a game, as my fiancee runs the finances in this relationship, mainly because she's the one with the job right now.

Sorry to have gotten off topic, but I needed to provide a relatively decent response. If it sounded like a rant, my apologies. Everyone here that knows me well enough knows that I rarely (if ever) buy my games.

Needless to say, the demo did enough for me to whet my appetite for the rental.
