What's with everyone's xbox's dying. I've known 4 people this week whose Xbox died, and guess what, Our's just died to. How crappy is that. So we'll be gone for for a couple of weeks. :(

We didn't get the three red lights of death like most other people, but our DVD drive motor broke so it doesn't spin anymore which means it won't read the games. As far as the recruiting that I was doing for the Gears clan, that's still going on, just let me know in a PM if your interested, and we'll work on putting it together when we get are xbox back.

Not really frustrated actually... I knew it was bound to happen. It just sucks. Im just happy with Microsoft that they will replace it with no problem. This is in no way swaying me to a PS3.... thats for sure. Im a 360 Man all the way and if this happens 10 more times, then it happens... heh

It's not really funny when this happens but indeed they replacement program works fine and the support people are really nice

Yeah except the support lady tried to tell me that we would have to delete all of are games saves. I was like yeah right. LOL.

Just use a memory card and save them if they make you send the hard drive. Anyway hope you get your box back soon. I'm probably one of the few on here that still has a working launch day 360.

Mine was even from launch, but bought in December of '06.... now the kicker is... the date on the 360 is 7/10/06 or something like that. And I believe those are the ones around that time that had these problems.

And yeah... its not too funny when this happens, but im going to crack jokes about it to keep it more of a positive thing than anything. Im still a 360 Boy at heart.... thats for sure!

Since 7\10\06 is within the one year, it will be covered including shipping. MS was making people pay and then they stopped doing that.


We are all gamers and friends here. This really makes me sad.

I remember when I got a ps2 for xmas about 3 years ago and It never turned on when I took it out of the box. When the system had been out for the amount of time it had then there shouldn't of been a problem. Though it was form Walmart which is a place no person should buy a console. Everyone I know that got a 360 from walmart ended up breaking.

yeah. there paying for the repairs since we bought it in december of '06. we have to wait for this box to come in the mail which is 3-5 days, then take it to a ups store and have them ship it. then we wait like 2 weeks from then.... so we will be out of a console for close to a month i think. i have a lot of regular dvd's through netflix coming... LOL... that will keep me semi busy... heh

There is no way IMHO that Walmart would get any better or worse quality 360's than any other stores. It's not like MS is saying "These are going to Walmart. Let's send them a bad batch". Nor is Walmart calling MS and saying "Hey since we sell for less, can you send us a bad batch of 360's". They may seem to get more returns but they in turn sell more.


True all 4 of my consoles were from Walmart but what other store (in Canada) would give me 3 months to exchange the console over the counter. No shipping, no waiting. No extra charge. Other people are on their 4th console and I'll bet not all of them bought from Walmart. The store is not the problem.

my friend ashleys system is on the brink.

shes gotten the lights o deaf.

and she also runs an intercooler.. and she knows it's possible the intercooler caused this problem.



but the weird thing is man.. her system wont work.. at all unless the intercoolers on..

if the system turns on without the intercooler it just freezes... with the intercooler on it runs fine...

so shes sending hers back to microsoft aswell..

Im thinking of attempting a bitchmove and breaking my consel and asking for a new one..

it would be a big LOW move.. but..

Im just nervous that my systems days are numberd.. :)

Yeah we think our's started to go downhill after are stupid houseguest, who thankfully is no longer living here anymore, started playing Viva Pinata on it for 12+ hours out of the day. After that was when the DVD drive started making weird noises when it would spin the games.

I used to feel the exact same way...worried. I would literally pray every time I turned on my 360. When a few of them started freezing up during gameplay, boom, back to Walmart. I felt the problem was going to get worse and that's not my problem. Let Walmart ship it back to MS. I paid a lot of money for my console and games (as a Canadian you know what I mean) and I expect a product that works.


There are probably a lot of people that worry the way I did. That is not what gaming is all about. I hope then as all these 360's break that MS just starts sending ones with the 65nm CPU when they are available.

I did that except i didnt break it...the screen kept freezing but it was no biggie,then i got the red ring..but it kept wprking after that..i called microsoft worried that it was gonna collapse after the waranty ran,they asked what was wrong and i said screen freeze,it was still working but not the way it should have been...anyway i got it fixed and it be working now!

Jesus all this xbox's dying or ready to die?!?!?its bil gates has flipped a switch and all the xbox's have broken...so now he can double his money with everyone buying a new one:p

See.... the thing is... if you return the 360 to a place where that whole batch of them are breaking in a certain amount of time, ya need to send it back to Microsoft. As much as it will suck, they should have it fixed permanently. In all honesty.... ever since they started with doing this, I havent heard of any problems with those 360's. I mean... Microsoft admitted that the first run was going to have problem, and thats why they did this program, so they must know how to fix it. So if there is a problem, dont take it back to the place you got it. More or less it will be a quick fix. Just send it to Microsoft and they will make everything better. Were getting a free month of Live out of it. Now, I would think that should be a given, but we didnt ask for it.

btw whats creepy is i looked at the manufacturing date of my 360 and its 05-31-2006 thats like it decided to work a year and then die....

Weird im just gonna have to send mine in dont have to pay anything....
But they want me to print a label i got through e-mail wich sucks since im out of ink and barely ever used the printer myself.
And then i look at the prices of inkcartridges the ones i gotta have and damn thats expensive...40 euro's wich sucks since my hospital bill went of my account a few days ago it costed me 200 euro's....

And then yesterday a friend of mine in the same situation says to me you can also have that label mailed to you so guess im gonna have to call again.

Xbox screwed up are order so it's going to take even longer to get are box back :( They were supposed to ship out the coffin on the 2nd but they didn't ship it till the 7th so now we won't get the coffin till the 13th. I was mad and they weren't going to do anything about it to fix it. So i went into b***h mode and demanded to speak to a supervisor. LOL. He was still saying it wasn't there fault and stuff. So finally after enough complaining they finally said they would give us a gift game which consists of PGR or Kameo. Blah. So i said we would wait a couple months till they got better gift games. They also said they would have it fixed over night to make up for the delay. So hopefully we'll have it back by the 20th which is when we are going to be away camping, so we should be back up with it on the 23rd when we get back.
