Whats everyone thoughts on it?

I was a huge GUNDAM fan years ago.. the series was addictive and Endless Waltz was madness.

I loved every second of it... I even got PS2 back in the day just to play FEDERATION vs Zeon

As for the demo..

Meh it was alright I was expecting better.....

Game play gets repetitive... all you do is strafe around and cut stuff up.. and after you get a full energy then you can do a huge gun blast...

But if your fighting a special character then.. LOL.. blast away.. I blasted Zecks Marquees (sp) like 4 times... but I could not finish the demo.. to many damn drones to kill!

can't remain in airborn for so long either... I was hoping for more combos and options.. but it is the demo... there could be more features added in the game.

But from what I've seen right now.. I'll probably preorder a copy...

I don't know what it is about them, but it seems that Robotech and Gundam are the two biggest anime franchises in Japan that allmost purposly fall on their faces when bringing a game to the states. We have yet to get a game that correctly captures the frenzy of battle that is demonstrated in the series. The closest one would be Robotech: Battlecry. The controls were a bit clunky but it did capture the show well. The only Gundam games that seemed to capture the frantic speed of the mobile suits were the arcade fighters in Japan like Gundam EX Revue. Unfortunately these never made it to the US. Here they seem to make Gundam games feel like your piloting a 80 ton 30 story tall slug, while Omega Boost for the PS1 controls like a Gundam game should (besides it being an on-rails shooter).

Well the new Gundam game is based on the dynasty warriors engine... So it will play almost exactly like prervious DW games... I love dynasty warriors (guilty pleasure :P) and I found this to be a welcome addition to that series, its not executed perfectly, but it is done well...

The one thing all combat hinges on is learning when to use what combos between blaster and melee, using different combos in situations will wipe out the playing field (trying 3xmelee/1xblaster and 1xmelee/1blaster) they both do great radius damage and clear out the area... As for special characters you need to pull off a combo like 4xmelee/1blaster and end with an SP attack, it wont kill them, but they will be hurting :P
