David Jaffe Confirms New Studio
Exclusive to Sony, but technically independent.
By Patrick Klepek, 07/27/2007
Confirming what 1UP reported over a month ago, David Jaffe is forming an independent studio called Eat, Sleep, Play with former Incognito head Scott Campbell. Jaffe is no longer working as Creative Director at Sony Computer Entertainment America, but his new company has signed a multi-year exclusivity deal with Sony.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with David and Scott and supporting them in their new endeavor," said Shuhei Yoshida, senior VP of product development at SCEA. "Through hit after hit, they have established themselves as two of the most talented individuals this industry has ever seen, and I look forward to seeing what kind of further gaming innovation they can bring to the PlayStation brand through our new development deal."
The first original game will arrive sometime early next year, but before then, Eat, Sleep, Play will produce Twisted Metal: Head On for PlayStation 2, an upgraded port of the PSP version that features an all-new Twisted Metal documentary and content from the never released Twisted Metal: Black 2.
This news also means Incognito, the folks behind Warhawk, are no more. However, the team has been brought into the SCEA Santa Monica fold, where they will continue to produce content for the game.

I think the years were 2 or 3 for the deal, so I'm sure once they are out of it they will be moving to multi-platform. I think Jaffe said at once something about the ps3 and something, it was something against it but I can't really remember what it was. Well good luck to those guys and hopefully they can put out some great games without the pressure of Sony on their backs anymore.
