Xbox360 Ultimate?

According to a Gamestop employee, Microsoft is making the elites into premiums, and dropping the core. He also mentions a brand new box called 'Xbox 360 Ultimate' that has an hdmi port, and a HD-DVD drive to compete with blu-ray. Head on over to Neogaf to view the whole conversation, but for now take this topic as a grain of salt.

Ok listening to a cashier at gamestop doesn't really give much weight to this rumor, so I'd say bogus! There is a chance of it though, about a nano chance.

One thing I have learned is NEVER believe what a guy says at a game store unless he/she actually knows about other stuff too i.e. technical stuff to do with gaming and can prove that he/she is a valid source of info.

Even though it would be a much better idea to have the HD-DVD drive built in I doubt it will be used for games...

But then again Microsoft have been known to never go by there word and always end up doing what they said they wont do...

If that would be true wich i doubt at this time......it would kind of suck but then again they could have allready put that stuff in the elite if microsoft would be really considering it.

I mean the Premium's now also have a HDMI port, so what makes the ELITE an Elite? an extra 100gb of hard drive space?

It would have been an Elite if it had:

120gb
HDMI - Exclusive to the Elite
Built in Wi-Fi

at least that because the wi-fi adaptor is an absolute rip off, mine cost me over $100 (£60) but what can you do? Its built like a cheap toy and costs too much.

Sure you have a choice but with Microsoft's pricing I think its the consumers wallet choice as Microsoft are ripping the consumer off...

Isn't it amazing, a company that is worth Billions and turns over millions in profits everyday has to charge stupid prices on the wi-fi adaptor and most importantly the hard drive.

Its just a laptop hard drive, with their own configured software at obscene prices.

It aint happenin... dont see the point.

With the Elite... you basically payed more for the hard drive, hdmi, and its black. If you take the costs into it... the prices are the same. The 120 gig is 179 while the 20 gig was 99...

As for the premiums now having HDMI... that made me mad, but ill live with it. I only have a 720p/1080i... so the quality would hardly be noticeable. But you payed 80 bucks more basically for a black system and the 120 gig... thats all.
