It seems to like this website connects to some sort of publicly provided xbox live database. How is this done?
I am the developer of the site in my sig, and I'm getting close to finishing a new version that will replace the current one. One feature I would like to have is some sort of achievement tracking for the game, but I can't find a way to do it without connecting to an xbox live database.
Would I have to register as a fansite or something? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the site,
A while ago (a bit more than 1.5 years) Microsoft decided to launch http://www.xbox.com/en-us/community/developer.
They selected 50 community site owners and programmers to develop Xbox Live based applications based on data feeds. So there are about 50 people in the world with that clearance.
I myself used to be also the developer of xboxusersgroup.com. I started xboxlivenation.com together with 2 other XCDP developers to bring the live services we all made for our own sites to a different level and create services that are even more innovative and creative.
Hope that this explains it a bit. This site is aimed in creating applications and services that eventually make their way to the XCDP community sites.
So we're not working for Microsoft if that's the question, we do have some employees that are member.
In that way it forms a community of testers and dedicated gamers that one to build communities how they should be build.
These articles may shed some additional light

So it's a technical program. If you want to build similar applications you need to apply for the program (not easy to get in) by following the instructions in the first link in this post.
