Unreal Tournament 3 gets no demo on PS3, PC in the clear

There will be a PC demo for Epic's Unreal Tournament 3 before the game's release in November, but the PS3 version is just out of luck. Epic VP Mark Rein told Eurogamer that it's like what they told Microsoft when they wanted a Gears of War demo, "You've got a choice - you can have the demo this year or the game this year."

Rein emphasized once again that Epic is not a huge company, a reason given by Sony for sending in their ninja engineers to help get UT3 out the door on time. Rein say the PC demo will end up being a beta, giving programmers feedback to fix the game before launch. The Xbox 360 version is expected early next year -- it'll definitely be interesting to see how the whole multiplayer situation looks between PSN and Xbox Live. We're definitely expecting some phenomenal complaining about which handles multiplayer better regarding ease of use. Unless the Xbox FPS fanboys are still focused on playing Halo 3 multiplayer at that point.

Well at least the pc fans get it and they should, since it started on the pc, and the pc fans are why this game and company are still around.

what does that mean? There was never a demo planned, so it's different with halo. If you wanted to play the beta you had your ways of doing it. This is different there is a demo planned, but it's for the pc only.

Makes sense,i get to play the pc demo but im buying it on the PS3 if i have the money around that time of release.

Well halo started on the PC,and it only recently got Halo 2 i dunno why pc gamers are made wait for Halo3!!

The game may have been intended for the pc at first, but that is not what it was released first on. Halo for pc didn't reach the pc until a year or two after the Xbox release. If you're talking about Marathon, then that was a MAC game. Though it wasn't really the roots of Halo, because Halo was supposed to be a RTS game, because that was the majority of games that Bungie had done at the time. Marathon may be close just because of it being a fps, but it isn't exactly the same as Halo. So Halo didn't really start on the pc, it started on the Xbox, if it wasn't for the Xbox crowd Halo would not be the monster it is today.
