Rumor: Metal Gear Solid 4 On 360, 6 months to a year after PS3?



In the latest EGM LIVE, Shane Bettenhausen one of the EGM editors who last week was on the Kojima podcast talks more in-depth on MGS4. How it will probably be coming in (or slightly before) March to the PS3, and more or less confirms there is a deal in place that MGS4 will come to the 360. It will be announced after the PS3 version is out and odds are it may come out 6-months to a year after the PS3 version. So just maybe Xbox 360 owners may get a chance at Snake come next Christmas. If so from what is gathered from the podcast it may be slightly changed to get the best of the 360 hardware, after all this game is being built on the PS3 first and foremost. As it was mentioned in the Kojima podcast last week, If MGS4 comes to Xbox 360, it has not affected the game’s development as a whole. Still a 360 port would be nice as all gamers would then be able to enjoy the game.

Well... to top it off it was rumored that MGS4 isnt coming out till '08 as well. If MGS does come out on the 360... this will be a huge blow to the PS3. Not to mention even if this game doesnt come out this year for the PS3. This is one game PS3 owners want, and MGS2 was a console seller as well. So if MGS4 doesnt come out to '08 and it gets confirmed that its coming out for the 360... I think this will be more nails for Sony's coffin.

Ace Combat is another huge loss for Sony. I just posted screenshots of the game.

if the MGS4 game is coming to 360 then I saved myself $600 or going to my gf's house most often (she is getting a PS3).

I'm sure it will happen. If Sony doesn't start showing developers that they can make money off of making games for ps3 then the developers are going to have to go multiplatform just to make some profit. I don't know if Sony can do it.

if Sony loses Killzone 2 and MGS4, PS3 is a goner for sure.

They can never lose Killzone 2 because they bought the company who is making it in fear of them making it for the 360. That's also why they bought the guys who make SOCOM.

MGS4 would be nice though to be on Xbox 360 since if it does (and probably will) have online multiplayer which is perfect for Xbox Live.
