So what can you win? One of the newer ideas that our Content Manager Gebbie saw at the VGXPO was this controller rack idea from the guys over at Armory Tech. Its brilliant in its simplicity, and rugged trough its engineering. The owner, Randall, told Gebbie that he started out making these controller racks for his friends and family, but at one point decided to make it a commercial venture. The trick here is to show the gamers of the world a new way to store their controllers, instead of on the table, shelf, etc. Many times its the wives, girlfriends, roommates or even our own personal preference that we would like our gaming area to be nice and neat, but that's not usually how it works. And for $14.99 its definitely a buy. We have 2 controller racks you can win so make sure you participate. Some more background Shown at E3, Randall's game rack is signed by Major Nelson, Trixie, E, and Leo Leporte. Here's some pics of it at the show:
Putting it together is pretty easy. After you cut open the bullet-proof blister pack packaging, your left with a back piece and the legs - along with the drywall mounting hardware (yes a screwdriver is required). The legs are pretty simple, they only go in one side of the rack, and are pretty durable. The assembly, which took a whole 30 seconds complete, comes to mounting it. The recommended way is the drywall approach, but what if you cant damage the walls? I chose to jam the disc box to Fable 2 under mine and a low shelf in the entertainment stand, and it works just fine, as visible in the pictures below.
